Is this Magazine for You?
Is it a Woman´s Magazine?
Absolutely not!
I don´t believe in magazines just for women or just for men.
In fact, I rather think in today´s society, there is no place for such labels.
I don´t believe in grouping people into age or gender boxes. Why would we still do that when we are striving so hard to achieve complete and real equality?
I don´t believe in Men´s magazines and Women´s magazines in the same way as I don´t believe in toys for girls and toys for boys.

Let me explain my point:
Let´s take a Cars magazine, for some, it may be considered a Man´s publication, right?
But WHY?
Don´t women (most women, unfortunately some countries still ban them from doing so) in the 21st century drive?
Oh, my goodness, they even buy cars! And the most daring ones even dare to watch F1 races!
I hope you see where I am going…
So bringing it back to our Magazine , interesting and inspiring articles on How to make the most of your living and working space, Tips on growing as a professional, Cooking, Curated luxury shopping, Travelling, just to name a few of the features you will find in Melanie Falvey Magazine , I am certain can appeal to both men and women.
Nowadays with fashion and beauty brands approaching all genders, designers and department stores creating Gender Neutral products and departments, do you really think boxed for only women or only men have a place in a modern and free society?
Not in my world. Not in the world I want to live in.
So, does that mean I am against Women´s magazines?
In some cases, they make us look dumb and frivolous, however in most cases, they are full of useful information, so I am not against them per se, I just don´t like the label: just for women. As with everything and everyone, I believe everything is improvable.
I´d rather create a space where regardless of your age and gender, you can find content that matters and enriches you as a person, as an individual, as a citizen and as a professional without any added tags.

It is in our power to do so. And I have set this as a personal goal. I want to live in a completely respectful society, where every point of view and every way of life (which doesn´t go against any human right) , has a place.
It is time to end stereotyping every product, every person, every behaviour, every activity… every thought.
At such a tumultuous time , where our guiding principle of freedom is being jeopardized, how can we morally defend our society´s values if things (in many aspects) are still so archaic?
We can change things and improve them but let´s be honest, that change must start within our own society.
So getting back to the point…Is this Magazine for You? If you are a person who matters (which I know you are, or you wouldn´t be here), we will write things that matter to YOU. Interesting topics with a focus on relaxed luxury living, in a quest for all things beautiful, which I firmly believe, make us happier.
We write things that matter for people who matter.

I know this is a very personal view on just one tiny aspect of our world today, but it is the editorial line we shall be following at Melanie Falvey Magazine. I hope you embark on this project with us, feeling as much enthusiasm as our contributors and myself.
Thank you for reading.
